History

As a sole proprietorship, production focused on the manufacture of rigid polyurethane block foam which was later cut into sheets according to the customer's request. This sheets were used for the lining of bodywork, cold rooms, molded foams and for the office and car furniture areas. It was also dedicated to providing services in the field of construction, through the polyurethane foams projection and buildings acoustic insulation. Having survived a fire in 1995 that destroyed more than half of the company's facilities, return to work after some time, remaining in the previous areas of activity.

At the end of 2000, more precisely on 12/15/2000, the private limited company was constituted but with the name of A. Moreira – Espumas e Isolamentos, Lda. It is a family business, with management divided by three partners Alberto Moreira, Paula Moreira and a partner with no activity, Zulmira Moreira. In 2006, the year when the construction sector became unstable, it was decided to abandon the projection services area, forcing it to rethink the previously defined strategy and to look for new markets and new forms of work. On February 26 2010, the name was changed to the current name, removing the word “Isolamentos” from the name of the company, renamed A. Moreira- Espumas, Lda.

 

‘The biggest feature of this company is the ability to analyze a customer's idea and turn it into different versions of polyurethane foam, not only because of our raw materials know-how but also in production mode. At all stages of the project the partnership with the Client / future Client is extremely important, by information sharing, expectations and phase approval.Due to market growth, on November 1st 2015, the quality management system was certified by NP EN ISO 9001: 2008 with the commitment of all.On May 24, 2017, the transition to the NP EN ISO 9001: 2015 normative reference took place.As A. MOREIRA - Espumas, Lda. sees Quality, Environment and Safety as another indispensable step of its capacity and as an excellent way to ensure the fulfillment of the requirements of customers, employees and stakeholders, has started the implementation and integration of the environment and occupational health and safety management systems based on the NP EN ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 45001: 2018 frameworks with the existing Quality management system. One of the first steps towards achieving this goal was the relocation of facilities, completed in June 2018.On October 3, 2018, the non-active partner assigned her quota to Ana Luísa Moreira.
